As she filmed her character in the film as a passenger on a train who is stranded on an unimaginable world"Pitch Black, "Pitch Black" (2000) she actor was expected to help to read the auditions of actors in a sci-fi show which was set to air in Australia. Although the show's producers had intended to hire an American actress, the casting agent believed Black was perfect to play the part. Black did a show-recording before being requested to Sydney to audition. The actress was cast in the role of Aeryn on "Farscape." The character was played by her with strength and toughness however, she also shared a deep sexual bond with co-star Ben Browder who played human astronaut John Crichton. As the show went on, Aeryn developed into a captivating and extremely watchable persona and she gained legions of fans. Following the end of that series, Black appeared on two seasons of "Stargate SG-1" as Vala Mal Doran and steadily increased her voiceover work on television, film as well as video game.
